The honest position
A coachbuilt or A-class motorhome buys you a fixed bed, a usable washroom and payload to carry a season's worth of equipment. It also buys you seven-plus metres to park, a fuel bill that rarely falls below 25mpg, and a habitation body that must be inspected properly every year. For most buyers the decision is not whether the layout works on the forecourt, but whether it still works on a wet Tuesday in a village car park.
Best suited to: longer trips, two people living aboard for weeks at a time.
